When Grief or Loss Reshapes Everything

Grief can shake everything; your routines, your identity, even your sense of time. Some days you’re fine, then a sound, scent, or silence brings it all back. You might feel sadness, guilt, anger, or nothing at all, while questioning if you’re grieving “right”. Others move on, but you still feel the absence. It’s not just the loss itself, it’s everything that left with it and the part of you trying to hold it together.

Grief Can Look Like:

We Help You Heal

Grieve at Your Own Pace, With Support That Honours Your Experiences

How Grief and Loss Therapy Can Support You

We don’t rush you or expect your grief to look a certain way. Whether your loss is recent or long-standing, tied to death, divorce, identity shifts, global events, or other experiences, we offer a space to grieve what matters to you. Our therapists walk alongside you through sorrow, confusion, numbness, or change. This isn’t about forgetting or moving on. It’s about honouring your experiences with care, presence, and the support you deserve. You don’t have to carry it alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

There’s no timeline for grief, and there’s no right time to start counselling. Some people seek support immediately after a loss, while others come weeks, months, or even years later, especially if the grief has become complicated, overwhelming, or stuck. Therapy can be helpful at any point in your grieving process, whether you’re in the raw early days or still feeling the impact of a loss from long ago.

Not at all. While bereavement is one form of grief, people also grieve the loss of relationships, health, identity, safety, or life as they knew it. Any significant change or loss can create a grieving process. Our grief therapists can support you through all types of grief with the same care and respect.

Many people feel pressure or guilt, internally or from others to move on quickly after a loss. Grief doesn’t follow a schedule and it’s completely natural to feel guilt after loss. If you feel stuck in sadness, guilt, or emotional shutdown, therapy can help uncover what might be blocking your healing and offer support for moving forward, gently and at your own pace. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting or moving on, it can mean learning how to carry the memory with you in a way that allows space for your own life, too.

Many benefit programs cover the cost of Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs). Please check with your benefits provider to see if this is available to you.

We offer direct billing options to certain insurance companies. If direct billing is not an available option, we provide a detailed receipt following each session. Follow your insurers instructions for submitting the receipt through your extended health benefits plan (often this can be done online).

We invite you to contact us with any questions to explore these options.

Our clinic is located in Langley, next to the 200 Street highway exit. We are easily accessible from Surrey, Maple Ridge, Abbotsford and other surrounding cities.

We also offer the convenience of online counselling for those who cannot make it in-person.

This really depends on the issue at hand and the context in which you are experiencing the problem. At the first session, you and your counsellor will discuss the optimal frequency and likely duration of counselling. With more complex and long standing issues, you will likely need more sessions to untangle things and build up internal stability.

Therapy is a process. That said, most of our clients experience some relief early on in the therapy process, and indicate that they are experiencing positive shifts in their lives after 4-6 sessions.
